Organization Hacks- Bathroom Cabinet

My house is almost back to normal, or at least as much as it can with my two year old tornado. My kitchen and living room forgot the hardest so they were the first rooms that I focused on. I realized yesterday that my bathroom had been neglected and needed attention. While I was cleaning I noticed that the area under the sink looked very similar to my before photo of my closet, with stuff jammed in and absolutely no organization to speak of. I knew that this needed to be my next major project. The most common hack I've seen uses dollar store plastic baskets to sort everything, but is that really all it takes?

I knew just by looking that a lot of this stuff was trash, so I tossed that out. It didn't make much of a difference though, so I started sorting stuff out. I began removing everything from the cabinet and putting it into separate piles. The three main piles that formed were skin care, oral/dental care, and extra bottles of shampoo, body wash, etc. At this point I realized that the small baskets that I got were completely pointless here, so I focused on getting everything to fit in the large plastic containers.

I finally got the whole cabinet empty, and while there are a few plumbing necessities that I was told need to stay under the sink, I have much more space to work with and I can easily fit four of my plastic tubs. I decided that the two larger ones would hold skin care and the extra bottles, while the smaller ones would hold dental and everything with cables.

Since the extra bottles were things we didn't need too often, I put that container in the back. The skin care box also had enough room for a few first aid items that don't fit in our first aid box.

Before putting the cables in the first small basket, I used some of my daughter's old hair ties to secure them so that I'm not dealing with another tangled mess later. I also ended up using one of the small baskets in the dental container because most of what I have there are samples from the dentist.

I had just enough space in between the two rows of containers to fit my husband's contact solution as well as my sanitary products, which just didn't fit anywhere else. I tossed out whatever I knew wasn't going to be used again, and that was it.

I have tried organizing down there before and something in the back falls over or something gets thrown under that doesn't belong and everything falls apart. This way seems much more stable and I can see everything without having to move stuff around. Why I didn't do this year's ago, I have no idea. I plan on trying this with the rest of my house now too because this is so much better.

Also, I want to stress that I found these containers at the dollar store. I looked at Target for something similar and the price difference is scary. Dollar store hacks are always the best hacks.
